Bossa Nova

South Florida-based Brazilian Voices is a women's' vocal ensemble noted for its musical excellence in Jazz, Bossa Nova, Samba and Pop. Over 14 years, the ten-time winner of the Brazilian International Press Award for Outstanding Brazilian Musical Group, Brazilian Voices has released 7 CDs and performed around the world in Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico, New York and London. Serene, innovative renditions of such Bossa Nova classics as Jobim’s “Wave,” and “Dindi” lent further charm to an evening that proved that some popular music never grows old. The group performed standards, adding elements with a smooth, cool remix and catchy original vocal arrangements. Click the link to view the Photo Album

Jazz & Samba at Arts Garage

Brazilian Voices was delighted with the response to last night's two sets atthe Arts Garage in Delray. The multinational audience went crazy for the fusion of Jazz and Samba, which refined both genres and broke new ground. Yuri Hawakawa of New York, said, "I felt like I was on a beach in Rio sipping a Caipirinha and listening to great music..." The audience reacted with cheers, dancing and participating...often singing along. The repertoire was the perfect balance of new and old material, with relaxing lounge favorites redefined by remixed tropical rhythms, the magic of the women's voices, astounding solos, and inventive arrangements. We invite you, our audience, to comment on last night's Brazilian Voices concert on our website. Check the Photo Album for another Arts Garage Concert.
