Beatriz Malnic

Beatriz MalnicBeatriz Malnic, born in Brazil, graduated in music at São Paulo University, where she studied singing, composition, choir conducting and piano. She worked with the composer, guitar player and partner of Vinicius de Moraes (Girl from Ipanema) Toquinho, in tournees in South America, Italy, Germany and Spain. She has also worked with artists like Chico Buarque, Geraldo Vandre and Roberto Menescal.

Living now in the United States, Florida, for 12 years, she performs in jazzclubs, local events and international festivals, singing Brazilian jazz, sambas and American standards. In October 2002 she performed in the Broward Center for the Performing Arts with João Bosco and Toquinho. She joined him again at the celebration for 200 years of Banco do Brasil.

Her first CD of bossa-nova and samba songs was produced by Roberto Menescal for Warner Music of Brazil, programmed by Nelson Motta. Her recent CD, "Estrada do Sol" was released in August 2006. This CD was nominated for best brazilian CD released and produced in the US at the International Press Award, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

In May of 2008 she was invited to teach a vocal workshop at the University of Florida, in Gainsville with another guest and guitar player Ulisses Rocha. Their concert is in the YouTube link below.

With Loren Oliveira, Beatriz created a Brazilian female vocal ensemble, the Brazilian Voices, that performs in local events and was awarded in 2003, 2004 & 2005 the Brazilian International Press Award for outstanding group in the US. Their CD "Brazilian Voices" was released in May 2005. Their performance at the Broward Center brought tears to the eyes of the honorary composer in attendance, Mr. Ivan Lins.

Loren Oliveira

Loren Oliveira

Singing and acting since a very young age Loren has made her love for the arts a journey of life. Loren's  career began in Brazil with lead roles in important plays such as the opera-rock "Amapola", "Evita", "Hair" and "The Imaginary Invalid" with Grupo Ornitorrinco among many others.

In 1993 Loren starred and produced her own show - "The Eight Capital Sins", a multimedia production, directed by Wellington Nogueira, combining live band, circus acrobats, and actors to a fusion of Pop music and Brazilian rhythms. From there, many other projects were part of her eclectic creative and ever-changing career  in partnerships with other artists such as Suba, Edson Natale among others.

In 1994 Loren moved to the United States where she continued to pursue music and the arts contributing with many local artists until creating her own group with co-founder Beatirz Malnic.

The two met in Weston, and worked together for the first time performing with the music group "Acoustic Brazil". In 2001, their enthusiasm with a vocal training workshop became the driving force in the birth of Brazilian Voices.
